SKOPJE/BUDAPEST (BosNewsLife)-- International observers said Monday, June 2, that Macedonia's elections, which were disrupted by ethnic violence, failed to meet international standards. The prime minister's conservative party, which advocates pursuing European Union membership, won the election. But observers warned that European integration could be more difficult following the election-day violence that left at least one person dead and several others injured.

SKOPJE/BUDAPEST (BosNewsLife)-- Officials in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia said late Sunday, June 1, they will repeat voting in 22 precincts that were shut down during Sunday's parliamentary election because of a deadly shootout, reports of intimidation, and alleged fraud.
