In a statement monitored by BosNewsLife Tuesday, May 6, Gospel For Asia (GFA) said its missionaries have been banned from the area by local authorities. "The Andhra Pradesh governor issued an ordinance that prohibits propagating any other religions near this temple and in 19 other places throughout the state," the group explained.

Although the state has not introduced anti-conversion law legislation yet, "many political groups are rallying to bring one about,..." the group said. "Already, if anyone violates the governor's ordinance, they will face three years imprisonment and/or a costly fine."

CHRISTIANITY SPREADING

GFA claimed the measures were in response to the spread of Christianity in the state. "Because GFA missionaries and other Christians are faithfully sharing the Gospel in Andhra Pradesh, many people have chosen to follow Him."

It said the rules comes as a setback for its workers who preached in "dusty village streets, soggy rice fields, bustling village markets and many other areas." Despite the apparent government crackdown, GFA missionaries will continue in the region, "Even if that means imprisonment or death," the group said.

If the gospel of Christ, which was started with 12 ordinary people of low social standard and education, could shake the Roman empire upside down, which force in the world can stop it? Let there be anti-conversion laws all across India, let the radical Hindus kill the Christrians and let their blood may flow like a river, from that river thousands of radical Christian preachers will be resurrected. Had these states in India stopped bothering the minority Christian community through anti-conversion laws, the growth of Christianity might have been far lesser in size. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a fire which can not be quenched. Even the lawmakers of anti-Christian laws will feel the heat of that gospel fire one day, somewhere in a detour of life.

This rule came into being because some missionaries went inside the hindu temple to market their god and win some customers. As any fair and rational individual would agree, this was highly unethical. I wish that missionaries belonging to any religion don't get so unethical that in order to win converts, they start visiting worship places of other religions.

Hi Eternal Truth, The missionary guy who went inside the temple is a poor chap indoctrinated by a dangerous theological doctrine, which led him to believe that an imported god was the only true god. It is the evangelical doctrine that is at the root of this evil. The doctrine makes them believe they have been 'saved' and all others go to hell. This zeal makes them blind and poisonous too. To eradicate this evil, we have to question the doctrine and make these missies have an open debate and dialog, instead of luring and alluring innocent folks.

Regarding funding and preaching of religion, isn't it incorrect to insist that other religions too preach like Christians? It amounts to the fact that Hindus stop being what they are and instead become like Christians and play the same number game that they like to play. God be damned, it is numbers that is more important. After all Christianity has been playing this game since its inception for last 2000 years. There is no way Hindus can play this game as good as Christians do. During Colonial rule more than 30 million men, women, and children were murdered by the Christian British and Portuguese in India. As Mahatma Gandhi once pointed out that one of main reasons Christianity never took hold in India was because of the barbarism and cruelity of the European Christian rulers. Today the Christian missionaries are continuing the agenda of the Colonial rulers to colonize not only the land but also the culture of the indigenous peoples. The Christians believe it their divine right to eliminate the culture of native peoples but natives on their part are expected be helpless victims and not resist annihilation. Those people who try to protect their culture are immediately vilified and threatened by supporters of the missionaries in the Western media and governments. The time has come for the Christians and their missionaries to respect the diversity and plurality of the world we live in and immediately stop their fascist tendency destroy other faiths and civilizations and allow people with differing beliefs than Christianity to exist in this world.

I am living in France and i used to visit churches because there were not Hindu temples near our town. what a surprise ! ONLY ten old ladies were kneeling down befor the christ. In France and the USA there is no future for CHRISTIANITY Europeans have understood that chrisitanity i s a big Multi national business based on collecting dollors from poor europeans and good samaritans who thinking the money goes to a noble cause make donations...what a pity ! they will be shocked to know the bulk of the sum goes to lure poor tribals or other down trodden people to get them forcibly converted to chrisitaniy. by hook or by crook. the aim is to compensate in Asia what they losse in Europe and THE USA.
