Some 25 Christians have been baptized in Pakistan.

FAISALABAD, PAKISTAN (BosNewsLife)– Dozens of Christian converts have been baptized in Pakistan this week despite local opposition or expected persecution after many people accepted Jesus Christ “as their Savior”, a leading Pakistani evangelist told BosNewsLife Wednesday, May 30.

Haseeb Masih, who founded Christian aid and evangelism group ‘Save Pakistan’ in the country’s Punjab province, said 25 Christians “gave witness through water baptism” that “they came to the Lord.”

Yet, Monday’s “wonderful time” wasn’t without dangers, he stressed. “We need to remember to keep these precious new believers in prayer, as new believers and [other] Christians in this part of Pakistan are often persecuted for their faith in Jesus,” the preacher added.

“There was also much opposition from the denominations” in this predominantly Islamic nation, he claimed. “But the Lord gave us the grace in the sight of the people who gladly accepted the true doctrine and got baptized in the name of Jesus,” Masih said.

The baptism in Punjab came shortly after this month over 100 people accepted Christ in a village of the province’s Chiniot municipality during a “revival meeting” the evangelist explained.

HUNDREDS GATHER

“There were about 300 people attending this gathering…to get blessings of God. There were such an anointing in our meeting that we have never seen before. We were all amazed and blessed by the outpouring of the Spirit of God,” he explained to BosNewsLife.

Additionally, he said, about 17 widows and young girls trained through his organization’s “Hope Sewing Center” graduated May 15, becoming professional sewers to provide a living for themselves in this impoverished nation.

Save Pakistan is also involved in other education programs aimed at impoverished people, provides aid to the disabled, accommodates orphans, distributes Bibles and has set up some 127 house churches around Faisalabad city, he added.

The activities come despite reports that Christians have been detained on charges of “blasphemy against Islam” and attacks against Christian churches and homes by Islamic militants.

Christians comprise less than five percent of the country’s roughly 190 million people, who are mainly Muslims, according to the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

  1. thats right, keep lieing to your paymasters in america for money . you missionaries have no shame that you lie about false conversion stories for monetary donations and gratifying your inflated egos. christianity is polythism paganism and has nothing to do with God or jesus, jesus is a blessed prophet of God and a muslim, get over it.

  2. Dear Muslim,

We have no paymasters in America. This is a true report about people accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. You are free to follow your religion. But no, according to the Bible, Jesus is not just a prophet, but God’s only begotton Son. John 3:16 says: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
